Pet Portrait Photography FAQs
Because pets aren’t “just animals” — they’re family. Professional portraits preserve their personality, expressions, and love in a way phone photos can’t.
We recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons. Limited spots are available each month.
A walk or play session beforehand helps burn off extra energy. Make sure collars are clean, bring treats, and arrive relaxed — pets feed off your energy!
Most sessions last 30–60 minutes, depending on your pet’s energy level and comfort.
Of course! You’re welcome to be included, whether that’s cuddles, hands, or full portraits with your pet.
Absolutely — encouraged! Favorite treats and toys help us get natural expressions and keep your pet happy and engaged.
Yes. We offer a variety of colors! Before your session, we touch base to make sure the background of your choice is ready.
Sessions are done in our studio here at American K9 located in Davidsonville, MD.
We specialize in working with shy and sensitive pets. Sessions are calm, pressure-free, and paced to your pet’s comfort level. Safety and positive experiences always come first.
Nope! Most of our portraits are captured during movement, play, or natural moments. We don’t expect perfect behavior—just your pet being themselves.
Not at all. We work with pets of all personalities, from wild puppies to senior pets who prefer naps. We use patience, timing, and pet-friendly techniques to capture authentic expressions.
